Hi there everyone, thanks for your interest towards reading this article about my visit to IITM. So, let's hop into my story without any further ado!

-> Pursuing my graduation at AVNIET, Hyderabad, me along with my team including V.Sridhar Reddy sir(Professor), Shubham Raj(Student) and Krishna Korpuru(Student) submitted our abstract about the topic on "Sentimental Analysis on Product Review Data" to the coordinator of the event in IITM for approval exactly after the deadline date. So, we were in a dilemma whether our abstract will be approved by them or not. Luckily, two days later Mr.Sridhar Reddy Sir confirmed that our abstract has been confirmed., that moment we all very happy and started gathering required info for our PPT. Finally, we have prepared our level best PPT and even had a demo presentation in our college under the surveillance of other Professors. Thereafter, our travel to Madras, the city of temples finally started. It was really an amazing experience for me to travel along with my seniors and professor.

-> Finally, by 8:30 am on August 19th, 2016, we landed in Madras Central Railway station and the bad thing about Madras is its hot and humid weather even by 7:00 am. So, we waited there sweating until our cab has approached us. Finally reached IITM, one hour later by watching all the scenic beauty of Chennai on the way.

-> IITM is famous not only academically but even for its aesthetic view of Long and Blossom trees, the eye-catching animals like "Blackbucks", "Reindeers"," Monkeys".

After our registration process, we immediately ran to a nearby tiffin stall and fulfilled our starving stomach's hunger with Madras famous Idli-Sambar. The campus is around 600 acres, wherein all the students use cycles for inner-travelling. We got into campus bus from there to our accommodation and got ready quickly and left to the seminar hall where the event was being conducted. All the rooms were a centralised AC ones, so with the hot temperature out, we felt it(Seminar Hall) like a heaven inside...LOL :). The first day, we met few professors from IISc, and their welcome speeches later on and research talks proceeded by other Professors of IITM. Finally, the first ended by 6:00 pm with ending speech being "How to Write / Present Technical Ideas". After that, we rushed to our rooms and refreshed ourselves had some rest and got to the nearby restaurant "Zaitoons" and had our dinner. We heard that there is an Amphitheatre with large seating capacity wherein all the national games will be projected on a large screen. At that time the Rio Olympics were going on and it was the final match of Badminton wherein Sindhu was competing with Marin. So, the whole theatre got house full when we got there and we too supported our team India. It was really a nail-biting match. Leaving about the result, we felt very much grateful that team India has, at least, won a Silver this time. Closing that day with some talks regarding PPT in our rooms and to the bed with a good sleep. -> Here comes our second day, which was actually our D_Day, we all were waiting for. We had enough practice with our topics and quickly got ready, had our breakfast and moved to the seminar hall. Until 12:15pm we had few lectures regarding "Efficient Parallel Sparse Matrix Computations" and "Writing Efficient Programs for Multicore Systems". Had lunch and came back in professional's way to the seminar hall wherein all the proposals were delivered by different colleges across India(Mostly South India). We gave our best and received applauds too.

But the thing was our topic was not selected as it was a business promotional topic rather than a research-oriented one. We felt bad a bit but not from the heart as we have given our best :). Shubham and Krishna motivated me always saying never think of success, just give your best shot., If we do so "WE WITHER WIN or WE LEARN HOW TO WIN! even if we loose". That one word has got a print in my mind and raised positive levels in me. The day went on usually thereby. -> The next day we all planned to go to a beach nearby. So, woke up early., and started to the Besant Nagar Beach which was the nearest one to IITM. Enjoyed a lot with the wave tides aside the rising sun.

The third day ended with some signing off speeches by dignities and had lunch in "Taramani Guest House" along with the INDOSYS whole team. It's a great food down there. Finally, talking with the last time with all dignities, I started my return journey to Hyderabad by 4:00 pm. -> Thus, it was really a great experience for me visiting IITM not on just behalf of proposal presentation but even by the name IITM itself. Who's gonna miss a chance to visit one of the finest engineering colleges in India? The atmosphere within the campus is very calm and pleasant, students and faculty are very friendly and jovial. No disparities among Juniors and Seniors.

3rd one from left is me.. lol :D

All stay happily living with the saying " Home away from Home". Lastly, what I could say is "The experience was hugely positive and worth visiting one." This is my first time writing an article over experiences of mine, please forgive me if it is not in an interesting way. Do let me know your views on this article by commenting down below.
